Panchos Mexican

Loved every bit of it. great, fun and friendly customer service, even though they were packed they still got our drinks and food out quick, and that was after taking the time to get us snacks while we wait because they said sorry for the wait! cocktails were unreal, I got the Nachos which I never usually like, loved it. And the aesthetic is awesome. See you next time!

As American-Aussies who have traveled to Mexico over half a dozen times, I think we've given up on ever finding decent Mexican food on the Gold Coast... except when we make it ourselves at home, which is what we'll probably stick to from now on because we keep trying different "Mexican" restaurants recommended to us and we always end up being very disappointed. If this Panchos was in the US we would've given it 1 star, but the staff were nice and friendly enough so we've given it 3. This was not Tex Mex or even Cal Mex, I'd hardly even call it Aus Mex. They don't even have the basics like enchiladas, chimichangas, carne asada/carnitas on the menu. There was zero amount of heat and spice in the food. What was with the chunks of tomato in the fajitas? And where were the beans and Mexican rice sides with every meal? All the portions were small for the price. Everything tasted mediocre, steak was tough, thin, small and rather flavorless. The margaritas were made with margarita mix which is a huge fail. Fast food Mexican joints like Cafe Rio, Qdoba and Chipotle in the US are far superior.

Right from the start the place was a vibe. The staff/ owners welcome you with open arms. We felt like we were one of their mates. They really took the time to chat with us, show us around and let us know what the place was all about. You were never looking for staff to take your drink/ food order, they were always onto it! The food was good, drinks were great! They had the absolute best Santa around and he rides a motorcycle!!!! Our kids had the best time, which means we got to have a good time too!! Thank you guys. We will definitely be back!!!

Tastiest Mexican on the Gold Coast! Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience as a walk-in family of 4 on Friday night. The music had a great twist on some oldies but goodies which really made the atmosphere for me, I’d love to get my hands on the playlist. Probably part of the reason why I had to try two cocktails 😉 Between the grownups we tried the ‘Wake up Margy’, ‘Stevies Wonder’ and ‘Born Slippy’, and I gotta tell ya, it’s going to be hard choosing one next time we are in! As a non gin drinker, I had more than my fair share of Born Slippy (pictured)! Maddy (owner) also made us a pink pineapple juice for the little guy so he didn’t feel left out. The food came out fast and fresh, particularly the kids meals so they were kept busy. With a couple of starters to share, two tacos were more than enough for me and the burritos are huge! Every mouthful was an explosion of flavour. Nestled at the base of the luscious Hinterland, I’m so stoked Panchos is on our back doorstep.
